keeping busy.

i've talked before (ad nauseum i might add) about how Mister Man travels a lot for his job. but i don't know if i've ever mentioned that his busy season is from september to may. then, when the people he visits become busy with their projects (you know, because the ground thaws up here in the tundra and people can dig again), he works more from his home office.well wouldn't you know it, he is in a traveling BOOM right now. so lately a lot of the household things that he normally does fall to me. oh, sob, boohoo, erin you have it so hard, you have to do housework like one-tenth of your time! yea. i know. let me have this okay?some of the things are crappy, like cleaning both bathrooms (i did dear! i cleaned both of them!). and spritzing that damn hibiscus of ours with a tiny water bottle. seriously, who knew plants were so high maintenance?other things, like trips to the suburban target and trader joe's, are way more fun. on a normal day, i go to the target closest to our apartment, the university avenue store. i've been going to that target for about 8 years now, and sometimes, the "cityness" of it gets to me, especially after a long day of dealing with work stuff. so i drive the 11 miles to a target in a nearby suburb. i know, i'm the worst. but you guys! this target store is almost like a relaxation spot for me now! it is so quiet, never crowded, and everything is always in stock. plus, the clothing there is always the best.mocs

sidebar: it was a terrible evening to wear moccasins. i don't know what i was thinking. i feel like i was probably super lazy after doing level 3 of the 30 day shred, and forgot that it was still freezing outside.

anyway. i bought some normal household stuff, like aluminum foil, but i also had some birthday funds and decided that a good old target splurge was in order. aren't those the best? buying stuff you don't really need, but so fun to have.studs

i did it!  i bought studs!

nailpolish

i have been trying to find gold nail polish forever, and essie finally heard my prayers. i'm also thinking about getting on this sparkly accent nail kick.

notebooks

i decided i needed someplace to record my thoughts and inspirations. for blogs, for bible study, for the thoughts i have on my bus rides home. lots of weird stuff happens then.

and i have a confession. i bought a maternity dress there last night. and i am most definitely not in the family way (that means pregnant for those of you who have never read little women or little house on the prairie). i bought it because it was so adorable. it was the cutest maxi dress out of all the maxi dresses they had to offer. i am just going to post a link to it here, because i couldn't get a good photo, and the one online just looks so pregnant. so i can't. it's just embarrassing.i'm not really sure what the point of this whole post was. it seems like maybe it's something like, "hey look i went to target in the suburbs and got some cute girly stuff and also a maternity dress so hey look at these pretty flowers i am keeping on my counter right now to forget about that embarrassing maternity dress part!" yea, that's close.flowers
