bernadette: two months old.

oh little Bernadette. Bernie if you're Amelia. Bernadettesky if you're William. you are proving to be a pretty fantastic third child. you're go with the flow (up to a point), you're pretty much always happy and smiling, and you could just watch the chaos going on around you forever. throw in your changing schedule and the holidays and it's been the fastest two months of my life since you arrived, but i've loved it all.the one thing i kept hearing from people while i was pregnant with Bernadette was that third babies are always the easiest. because people love to overgeneralize baby behavior based on gender and birth order! but i will say, whether it's because i'm more relaxed about parenting now that i have three, or whether it's truly her personality, she is a very good baby. just today, she had a morning full of interrupted naps thanks to a combination of preschool dropoff+pickup and a tantruming older brother but is totally fine catching the last hour of her "nap" in the carrier while i make lunch for the other two.we celebrated Bernadette's first christmas and oh my goodness there is nothing cuter than two little kids and a baby in matching pajamas. we didn't have to go anywhere, and she got lots of cuddle naps with mom and dad. she also got her first cold...it was a doozy. but true to form, she was a trooper, and even slept about the same at night as she normally does. apparently she isn't sleeping quite as well as the other two were at this point, but honestly, i'm too tired to really notice it. once you're exhausted, you're just exhausted and it doesn't really matter what happens at night. she'll find her groove soon.i noticed that i've been a little more obsessed with schedules with Bernadette than i was with either William or Amelia. i think it's because the other two kids have such established schedules and other activities, that it'd be helpful for Bernadette to have a schedule. but as Mister Man reminds me, she's only two months old. she'll get there soon enough.she is definitely my best eater out of all the kids, and it's been a relief to not have to worry about her eating on top of the rest of our crazy lives. one other thing i'm definitely not worried about is her muscle development. she is crazy strong and i have a feeling she'll be an early walker like her brother and sister. which i don't hate because it's what i know!miss Bernadette: you are a love and a light in our lives. you are so loved that it might be dangerous, only because your brother and sister might smother you from too much love! thanks for being an amazing third baby and smiling at me all the time.
