#12daysofblogging: oh, christmas tree.
welcome to day 1 of #12daysofblogging! if you're just joining us, you can find out more about the christmas linkup here. today's prompt is "christmas tree/home decor". get inspired and spread the christmas spirit!christmas trees are magical. once a year, you bring the outside in, add sparkling lights and a little bit of your personality in the form of your ornaments. they provide a home for the wrapped gifts on christmas morning, and a centerpiece for all the christmas traditions throughout the season. magic.i might even venture to say that the tree is my favorite christmas thing. i have a thing for greenery i guess. so you can imagine how excited i get around this time of year when we go to pick ours out. even this year, when it was -30 degrees F with the windchill...yes, Mister Man and i are real christmas tree people. we love the tradition of going to a sustainable christmas tree farm to cut down and haul our own. we love the smell of the needles inside the house...so much that we don't even mind the extra vacuuming that comes with it. in fact, there's something about the extra work that gives it that much more meaning. i know that there are some who swear by the artificial tree, and trust me, i see the pros that come with a fake one, but for us, it's worth all the work to have a bit of nature inside the house during this cold, snowy season.we have a tiny little house, which makes the task of squeezing it in amongst all the furniture a little daunting. but we've given it its own special corner of the living room. a place of honor. and for the next month or so, we'll light a fire, sit on the couch and enjoy the glow of our christmas tree, reminding us that it's not about what's under the tree on christmas morning, but the time you spend reflecting on the season in the days leading up to it.[inlinkz_linkup id=349360]
