these days with baby Z3.
well, three weeks have flown by for me. the weeks go a lot faster now that i'm home for the majority of the time. the days can seem very slow, especially when Mister Man travels, but the weeks go by in a flash.we are enjoying lots of family time together, and i'm trying to enjoy each child individually whenever i can because it just gets harder to find one on one time on a whim as the family grows. we went to "the lorax" at the children's theatre together, all four of us, and it was so much fun to watch the kids enjoy it in their own way. amelia sat in awed silence the whole time watching this version of her familiar story, while william only paid attention during the songs and bopped along like a madman.this week i finally started feeling the baby move and we had our 20-week ultrasound. much to many people's dismay, we are not going to find out if the baby is a boy or a girl, just like we didn't find out for amelia or william. we figure it'll be one or the other and we have everything we need for either. i love the surprise at the end instead of the middle, so i'm excited to have that again. apologies to my sisters for disappointing them yet again on this front!
the above photo was me at 24 weeks with Amelia (the first time i had enough bump for a photo).
the above photo was me at 20 weeks with William.
excuse the mess, i'm staging shelves and packing unnecessary items away.
how far along: 20 weeks (but how am i halfway through?).i’m feeling: a lot better and more energetic. since i do the majority of my work before the kids get up and after they go to bed, and also the fact that we're, you know, selling our house in six weeks(!), i haven't had much time or energy to work out, which is bumming me out. i am really active from the kids, which gets me up and moving obviously, but it doesn't really build muscle which is what i need. i'm also a little in denial that this pregnancy is already halfway over!total weight gain: i'm up 7 pounds from pre-pregnancy weight. with william i was at 11 pounds gained at 20 weeks, so it seems like i'm a little closer to my weight gain with amelia. i'm guessing this is due to the fact that i don't sit at my desk job anymore, and i'm actually literally running after not one, but TWO children every day. maybe. probably. definitely.baby Z3’s size: this week, baby is the size of a banana (10.5 oz. and 6.5 in.). baby is getting bigger for sure, i noticed that i'm feeling a little heavier in the belly, if not physically bigger.this week: we had our ultrasound this week which is absolutely one of my top favorite moments of every pregnancy. the profile! the itty bitty feet! the wiggling! everything was also healthy and good so we are very thankful for that as well.maternity clothes: you know it! my sister just had her baby so she gave me a bunch of casual maternity clothes to borrow, which is amazing. i have a lot of work maternity clothes, so i've really been wearing the same few clothes over and over already. gonna be really bored by the end of this again, but it doesn't bother me as much as it did the last times.sleep: i truly think that if my kids would just stay asleep, i'd be living large in the sleep department. my standards are so much lower now that i have kids, six hours in a row feels like 12.best moment this week: seeing baby at the ultrasound and finding out everything looks good and healthy!movement: yes, finally! i started feeling both other babies really early (amelia at 17 weeks, william at 18 weeks), so i was a little perplexed why it took until 20 weeks with this one. i guessed that maybe my placenta was at the front this time, and sure enough, the ultrasound confirmed that (baby is a wiggler like the other two as well)! so basically it's cushioning the movement and i can't feel it as strongly. but now i can feel little kicks and bumps and it's amazing and miraculous. it's the thing i miss most when i'm done being pregnant.food cravings: nothing too crazy anymore. i like a snack at night, and i would gladly eat carbs over everything else, but no true cravings.food aversions: i have to force remind myself to eat fruit and vegetables a little more often because they just don't taste good to me, but anything in season is great so i've been using more in-season produce to help.belly button in or out: hanging on by a thread. let's call it flat.looking forward to: feeling baby more often as they grow, and starting to think of names for this little one.
