bernadette: eight months old.
well. look at that. i managed to take (slightly late) photo for month eight, so that's pretty cool. the main goal with this one is trying to remember ALL THE THINGS Bernadette did in month eight, because it was a busy one!
our main fun this month was taking a trip to see our sweet friend ashten. we joked that it was actually Bernadette's second girls trip with us because she had been along for the ride while she was baking last year in palm springs! this was Bernadette's first plane ride, first time to california, and first time being without her brother and sister for more than a night. she handled all of it like a pro, except for maybe being apart from her brother and sister. turns out, she likes the constant entertainment they provide and when the two adult women she's with can't give that to her, she's like, what am i supposed to do now? it was so wonderful to get to spend time with ashten in her home and just chill together, i can't wait until we get to return the favor. (hint hint ashten, the invite to minnesota has no expiration date!).
Bernadette's eighth month also brought a visit from her godfather, my brother Patrick, and his family, who got to meet her for the first time since they live in maui. that was so much fun to see. we also got lots of cousin and friend time this month, and the ever-social child just keeps confirming that she loves people and will never get sick of being around them.
she's still not sleeping through the night but she is crawling around like crazy. she's starting to pull up onto things and while she didn't beat her brother by walking at age eight months (because that's insane), i'm guessing she will keep up with what her sister did, and walk by about nine and a half months. time shall tell.
also, this child loves food and has basically given up purees. give her all the watermelon and tuna sandwiches please. what can i say, my kids like what they like!
miss Bernadette: turns out you are a dream travel baby, and based on our trip to california, also have magical powers that make literal strangers stop on the street to marvel at you and what a perfect baby you are. i mean, i can hardly blame them. we love you more than words, please stay wonderful forever.
